Learning Outside The Classroom

Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC)

Providing an engaging and balanced curriculum is at the heart of our curriculum at PCJS and we are thrilled to have been awarded the silver mark from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.  Learning Outside the Classroom helps children explore the world around them in exciting and practical ways. Through outdoor lessons, school trips, nature activities and real-life experiences, pupils build confidence, curiosity and independence. These opportunities bring learning to life, improve wellbeing and help children develop important social skills. We are proud to give our children meaningful experiences beyond the classroom that inspire a lifelong love of learning. There is increasing evidence to show that a curriculum rich with learning outside the classroom opportunities increases attendance, engagement, attainment and wellbeing.
